A satinwood veneered, 8" dial, wheel barometer with boxwood and ebony double edge stringing. Pale wood barometers are relatively rare as most have darkened over time, and satinwood is the palest of veneers, often being confused with tiger maple in appearance. The swan neck top is of solid mahogany, and so is darker; these pediments were seldom made with matching veneer. Below that is the hygrometer, a long alcohol thermometer, the 8" main dial with indicating hand (blued steel) and the set hand (brass), over the spirit level.

A very pleasing antique barometer in fully workin condition, in a striking color and pattern.
